So we are continuing with Baby Led Weaning with Ailsa. To be honest we are not getting anywhere too fast. I am offering food when we are eating but she isn't overly interested still. We are trying her with different things- still fruit and veg and a bit of eggy bread here and there. She is still feeding from me as much as she wants which has been quite a lot. I am quite happy to follow her lead though and we know that this will take time to lead up to her having 3 full meals a day and cut down on her milk feeds.
If I am completely honest I have been finding it quite difficult to know what to feed her. No one tells you how hard it can be knowing the right things to feed your child. I am trying to keep it as healthy as possible and I want Ailsa to grow up with good food associations and to take things at her pace. I am going to start keeping a diary of what she is eating and what she seems to like and try and plan out her meals in an attempt to let her try lots of different things.
We have even given her some food in a restaurant when we went to Bills for breakfast when we went to Cardiff for the weekend. She ate a little toast and I feel so much more confident in letting her have food when we are out and about now. I think our next plan is to try her with little bits of meat or fish if we are eating it and see how she goes.
